SUMMARY:GGP Seminar: Jerry Prewett - "Using the ArcGIS Online Cloud-based
Mapping and Analysis Solution to Redesign the Geosciences Technical Resou
 rce Assessment Tool (GeoSTRAT)"
DESCRIPTION:Jerry Prewett\, Missouri Geological Survey Division deputy dir
ector will present on GeoSTRAT.\n\n\nThe Missouri Geological Survey maint
ains 69 layer files to implement the mission of collecting and distributi
ng information about Missouri's water\, mineral and energy resources. The
Missouri Geosciences Technical Resource Assessment Tool (GeoSTRAT) is a
web application that allows access to 51 of those layer files through a n
ewly designed interactive ArcGIS online platform that provides improved p
erformance and applicability. The system enables users to easily and quic
kly visualize and explore the information about Missouri geology and asso
ciated applications. Data can also be downloaded as KMZ and layer files f
or additional analysis. The application can be used with PCs and handheld
devices for data assessments in various disciplines\, such as hazards as
 sessment\, mineral resource evaluation\, environmental consulting\, engin
eering\, local and regional planning\, insurance assessment and education.
