DESCRIPTION:Join us on Oct. 5 as we celebrate the First Friday of October!
  This month\, there will be "spooky" events in more than 27 different loc
 ations around Springfield.\n\n\nDon't forget\, all Missouri State Galleri
 es will provide refreshments and snacks for those interested.\n\n\nMSU St
 udent Exhibition Center presents the Art Walk Anniversary Art Contest Exh
 ibition. Enjoy works submitted for our annual art contest\, and choose th
 e winner of the People’s Choice Award by voting for your favorite at the 
 reception.\n\n\nideaXfactory presents eXtreme Fiber Art\, an exciting mix
  of contemporary quilts\, sculpture\, installation\, crochet\, weaving\, 
 needle-felting\, book art\, origami and art to wear\, featuring both loca
 l and nationally awarded artists whose work has appeared in Quilt Nationa
 l and Fiberarts International. An amazing display with live demonstration
 s.\n\n\nThe Missouri State University Brick City Gallery presents Euduard
  Cehovin\, Radovan Jenko and Cedomir Kostovic: Graphic Design in October 
 and November.\n\n\nThe Missouri State University Center of International 
 Programs invites you to celebrate Harvest with them during Art Walk in Oc
 tober. Learn about harvest celebrations in countries including China\, Ja
 pan\, South Korea\, Mongolia and Vietnam.\n\n\nPark Central Branch Librar
 y presents an evening of art and culture for Art Walk in October.  At 6 p
 .m.\, Hanna Flanagan\, journalism major and art history/communications mi
 nor at Missouri State University\, will present A Review of Byzantine Ico
 noclasm and Imperial Power During the Eighth Century. At 7 p.m.\, Nigeria
 n artist Ibiyinka Alao\, first prize recipient of the United Nations Inte
 rnational Art Competition\, will present Visions of True Colors\, about h
 is work and display samples. Alao’s paintings are a rare collection of an
  artist who has spent 21 years expressing a peaceful view of integration 
 of cultures in our world today through the use of colors. On display\, 6-
