DESCRIPTION:Missouri Department of Transportation representatives will pre
 sent the Captain Aaron Eidem Memorial Highway sign to his widow\, Amber E
 idem.  \n\n\nIn 2016\, Capt. Eidem\, an MSU assistant professor of milita
 ry science and an active duty military police officer\, positioned his ca
 r between oncoming traffic and a motorist stranded in the fast lane on I-
 44.\n\n\nHis efforts saved the life of the motorist\, but at the tragic l
 oss of his own. Capt. Eidem was posthumously awarded the Soldier's Medal 
 by the U.S. Army\, which is the highest award a soldier can receive outsi
 de of a combat-related event.\n\n\nLt. Col. Scott Morris\, a previous MSU
  professor of military science\, who served with Capt. Eidem\, will be th
 e guest speaker.\n\n\nThis memorial event is open to anyone who wants to 
 pay respects to a great teacher\, devoted father and husband\, and a trul
 y selfless soldier who upheld the Army's values.
