SUMMARY:Public Affairs Conference - The ethics and social impact of pornog
 raphy
DESCRIPTION:Panel Session - The ethics and social impact of pornography\n\
n\nPornography is one of the most commonly searched topics on the interne
 t. Unfortunately\, the digital world normalizes misogyny\, racism and vio
lence against women. Pornography is a pervasive commodity on campuses and
throughout our society. The porn industry exemplifies the power dynamics
of sex\, where women are portrayed as sexual objects and the actor\, bot
h those who consent and those who do not\, are exploited. The ease of acc
ess to pornography on all digital devices is making it easier for our you
th to be exposed at ever earlier ages. What can we do to minimize the neg
ative impacts of pornography on individuals?
