SUMMARY:Public Affairs Conference - The workplace of the future
DESCRIPTION:Panel Session - The workplace of the future\n\n\nTechnological
change has occurred throughout history. These changes have increased wor
ker productivity and stimulated economic growth\, but often at the cost o
f displacing workers. Recently\, the rate of technological change has inc
reased dramatically\, offering the possibility of a shorter work week and
earlier retirement in our future. As robots increasingly become our part
ners in the workplace\, enhancing our jobs by performing mundane\, repeti
tive tasks for us\, what collateral changes will occur? Does this pose a
threat to the concept of work entirely? What will the workplace of the fu
ture look like after the digital industrial revolution?
