SUMMARY:Public Affairs Conference - How to protect yourself from cyberstal
 king and cyberbullying
DESCRIPTION:Panel Session - How to protect yourself from cyberstalking and
cyberbullying\n\n\nCyberstalking and cyberbullying are becoming all too
common in the lives of many Americans\, especially students. These practi
ces are often used to silence members of our society\, causing them to sh
y away from social interaction. Human trafficking and an increasing numbe
r of suicides in people under age 30 have been associated with these tact
ics. Hate speech is often directed at women who are activists\, politicia
ns and journalists simply on the basis of gender. Blackmail (doxing) is u
sed to punish women\, sometimes including ‘revenge porn’ sites. What advi
ce and resources are available to help students and others who are target
s and victims of social media bullying\, cyberstalking and human traffick
 ing?
