She is respons ible for managing the City of Springfield's development review activities . She previously served as economic development director\, and was respon sible for development initiatives\, including center city redevelopment\, economic incentives and coordination of the review of significant develo pment proposals.\n\n\nSmith has also served as principal planner in the N eighborhood Conservation Office and was responsible for the city's Capita l Improvements Program. She serves on the board of directors of the Misso uri Economic Development Finance Association\, as well as several communi ty improvement districts.
