SUMMARY:CANCELED: Deep Dive Workshop: Communication and Conflict Coaching
DESCRIPTION:When colleagues can't get along\, the workplace turns into a b
attleground. Tensions rise\, productivity is impacted\, and time and enge
rgy are wasted as conflicts escalate. Supervisors may be called upon to "
fix" the problem\, but often their solutions fail to address the real iss
ues that created the conflict in the first place. But what if there was a
way to coach others to help them manage these situations?\n\n\nThis sess
ion will help you learn how to coach others through difficult communicati
on challenges and conflict situations. Rather than "fixing" the problem f
or them\, you can employ communication and conflict coaching strategies t
o assist them in managing their own conflicts\, building their communicat
ion skills\, and achieving their goals. \n\n\nIn this interactive session
\, we will do the following: \n\n\n\nExamine why "fixing" other people's
conflicts is rarely effective. \nExplore how a coaching approach differs
from the ways people typically respond to others' conflict situations.\nL
earn the steps in the communication and conflict coaching process. \nInve
stigate the benefits communication and conflict coaching offers. \nPracti
ce coaching skills that you can put to use immediately to help build othe
rs' communication and conflict managment skills. \n\nThis Deep Dive Works
hop is free for Missouri State faculty and staff\, but seats are limited
and pre-registration is required. Register online.\n\n\nSee the CDR campu
s workshop website for more information\, email CDR@MissouriState.edu or
