DESCRIPTION:About the Training: This workshop is a communications training
  designed to empower communities to combat situations of identity-based v
 iolence. The trainer encourages people to be active bystanders and to de-
 escalate conflict by engaging the target (not the attacker)\, documenting
  the incident and offering the target support. \n\n\nAbout the Trainer: T
 ameka Bell is a nationally recognized communications professional who lev
 erages skills in storytelling\, training\, journalism and strategic narra
 tive to help organizations tell better stories. Bell has led trainings wi
 th more than 1\,000 grassroots leaders - from first-generation immigrants
  and those returning from incarceration to clergy leaders and nonprofit e
 xecutives. She is a native Kansas Citian and holds a degree in journalism
  from the University of Missouri.
