DESCRIPTION:The Department of Art and Design will host two internationally
 -renowned guests for a series of public presentations and workshops. The 
 community and university are invited to join us for public talks by visua
 l artist Marie Watt and by critic\, author and educator Terry Barrett.\n\
 n\nAt 11:15 a.m. Watt will speak about her collaboratively made quilts\, 
 objects and installations that involve intersections of history\, communi
 ty\, indigenous teachings and storytelling. \n\n\nA light lunch will be p
 rovided in the museum lobby from 12:15-1:00 p.m. \n\n\nAt 1:00 p.m.\, Bar
 rett will speak about critique processes and approaches to art interpreta
 tion. His student-centered books on aesthetics\, criticism and visual lit
 eracy have long been revered by professors and students.
