DESCRIPTION:The MSU Jazz Festival is a full day of performances and clinic
 s for high school bands from throughout the state. The evening concert wi
 ll feature jazz trombone legend Steve Wiest with MSU's Jazz Studies Ensem
 ble I\, directed by Randy Hamm. Wiest is a multiple Grammy-nominated trom
 bonist\, composer\, author and cartoonist. The former soloist and writer 
 for Maynard Ferguson\, hr went on to perform on the road with Doc Severin
 sen and the Old Tonight Show Orchestra\, as well as many other artists. W
 iest is co-chair of jazz studies at The University of Denver’s Lamont Sch
 ool of Music and is an Edwards Instruments Performing Artist.  For more i
