 llenge. Recent debates have pitted cultural competence against cultural h
 umility\, thus creating two philosophies concerning advising students fro
 m diverse backgrounds. In this session\, we will look at what the researc
 h tells us about some of the pros and cons of each philosophy\, and then 
 move toward a model that integrate the two. In presenting this new paradi
 gm\, Dr. Kyler Sherman-Wilkins hopes to better equip academic advisors wi
