 City of Grand Prairie\, Texas. She is the author of a "Viewpoint\," an op
 -ed column\, article printed in the fall of 2020 American Planners Associ
 ation (APA) Magazine entitled\, "Walking the Racial Equity Walk."\n\n\nSh
 e is an urban planner who sets her focus on placemaking in the state of T
 exas. She is the creator of blckspces. Blckspces is a website where Powel
 l writes features about the Black experience in urban design. She identif
 ies herself as passionate about people\, places and spaces from the Black
 /Brown perspective.\n\n\nPlease join her talk to learn more about her abi
 lity as a city planner to  focus on "the notion of planning with the peop
 le being served\, not for them."
