SUMMARY:Visiting Artist Talk with Kerry Phillips
DESCRIPTION:Kerry Phillips creates sculptures and installations using fami
liar objects\, often overlooked\, in unexpected ways - ranging from thing
s scavenged and found to collected experiences and retold stories. She wo
rks intuitively in response to place\, objects found and time\, often enl
isting the community's particiaption in the gathering of materials or thr
ough performative interactions.\n\n\nIn her talk\, Phillips will consider
happenstance\, resistance and the shared story of things as it relates t
o the seemingly accidential nature of the materials she finds\, how she u
ses them and her dogged refusal/inability to look at things in ordinary w
ays. Though she may also talk about anything but that and digress often i
 n her easygoing personal storytelling-style way of sharing.\n\n\nPublic a
ccess to this talk will be via Zoom. Please register.
