DESCRIPTION:The Ozarks Studies Institute will host Alex Primm for an autho
 r talk and signing of his book\, “Ozark Voices: Oral Histories from the H
 eartland.”\n\n\nThe event is free and open to the public. It will also be
  livestreamed via Zoom.\n\n\nFind visitor parking information.\n\n\nAbout
  the book\n\n\nReleased by McFarland &amp; Company in February 2022\, “Ozark 
 Voices: Oral Histories from the Heartland” encourages everyone (not just 
 historians) to conduct oral history with the people in their lives. \n\n\
 nThe book is comprised of three sections: 1) samples of oral history from
  region\; 2) instructional essays on methodology\; and 3) Primm’s persona
 l stories on working in this realm.\n\n\nMore on the author\n\n\nAlex San
 dy Primm has worked for more than 40 years as an oral historian\, storyte
 ller and educator in the Ozarks. He also served as a correspondent in Vie
 tnam and taught oral history in mainland China.\n\n\nIn addition to his b
 ook\, “Ozark Voices: Oral Histories from the Heartland\,” Primm has also 
 worked as an associate writer and producer on the award-winning short vid
 eo\, “Treehouse: An Ozark Story.”\n\n\nMission of the Ozarks Studies Inst
 itute\n\n\nThe Ozarks Studies Institute\, an initiative of the Missouri S
 tate University Libraries\, seeks to preserve the history and culture of 
 the Ozarks by fostering a comprehensive knowledge of Ozarks people and th
 eir heritage. The institute serves as an educational resource by collecti
 ng and discovering new knowledge about the Ozarks and providing access to
  that knowledge.
