DESCRIPTION:Attendees will be inspired by Marlee Matlin\, Academy Award wi
 nner\, author and creator of the app\, Marlee Signs. This app teaches Ame
 rican Sign Language to millions of smartphone users. \n\n\nBrent Dunn\, M
 issouri State University Foundation executive director\, states\, "Matlin
  is not only an accomplished artist but also a true humanitarian. Her sto
 ry is inspirational because she overcame odds and broke barriers to achie
 ve great success. Even more admirable\, she has used her platform to cham
 pion the deaf and hard of hearing community\, as well as advocate for div
 ersity\, equity\, inclusion and access."\n\n\nMatlin’s keynote is free an
 d open to the public. Tickets are not required. The event is made possibl
 e by the Missouri State Foundation with support from KY3/KSPR\, Springfie
 ld's NBC/ABC TV affiliate.\n\n\nThe Foundation will host a VIP reception 
 with Matlin at 5:30 p.m. before the talk. Guests will have a photo op wit
 h Matlin\, and receive an autographed copy of her book and reserved seati
 ng at the event. The cost is $125 and tickets are available for purchase
