SUMMARY:Creating Food Security for All
DESCRIPTION:As many as 811 million people are going hungry across the glob
 e. An estimated 16.9% of households right here in Greene County experienc
e food insecurity and that number continues to rise. But there are no sim
ple solutions. Even before the more visible questions of nutritional educ
ation and community partnerships\, the path to a healthy meal involves in
novative food science and agricultural practices\, attention to climate a
nd disease\, human resource management\, corporate and governmental polic
 y\, as well as technology\, cybersecurity\, transportation\, and energy.
The Food and Agricultural Organization identifies the four conditions of
 food security as availability\, access\, utilization\, and stability\, so
multilevel collaboration will be a key success factor in any endeavor to
increase local and global food security. Are there new ways to create co
llaborations that can contribute to more efficient production and distrib
ution of food? How can communities think across professional\, institutio
nal\, and even political boundaries to better achieve food security condi
tions for individuals\, children\, and families?
