SUMMARY:5th Day of the Dead Festival
DESCRIPTION:Come celebrate one of the most beloved Hispanic holidays with 
 traditional sugar-skull decorating\, papel picado art and cempazuchitl fl
 ower-making. Participate in the mini-altar diorama competition\, "Calaver
 itas" poetry creation and the Catrin and Catrina contests. Learn about th
 e different cultural practices and rituals to honor your deceased ones ac
 ross the globe. Visit the traditional altar and enjoy "Pan de Muerto" swe
 et bread. There will be live music from La Marimba Caliente and Mariachi 
 Flor de Missouri\, and dances from Grupo Latinoamericano Dance Troupe.  \
 n\n\nThis festival is organized by the Department of World Languages and 
 Cultures\, in collaboration with Multicultural Programs and the Judith En
 yeart Reynolds College of Arts and Letters. Participating departments inc
 lude: religous studies\, history and sociology and anthropology.\n\n\nThe
  PSU Ballroom will be transformed into an all-day festival. Stop by and c
 elebrate these traditions and the spirits of the dead.
