SUMMARY:MSU LEAD ON: Leadership as Framing
DESCRIPTION:When faced with challenging situations\, most people do their
very best to make sense out of what’s happening—sometimes reaching for an
y explanation that provides comfort or seems most reasonable. In this cou
rse\, we’ll examine how leaders are able to manage that sensemaking proce
ss for their team by engaging in mindful communication framing. When real
ity is subjective\, framing can help build that reality for others. First
\, we’ll explore what the term framing means in the context of leadership
communication. Next\, we’ll assess or own communication framing tendenci
es and explore how we might benefit from other styles. Lastly\, we’ll out
line and critically examine the five rules leaders should follow to imple
ment framing effectively. \n\n\nThe MSU LEAD ON workshops support continu
ed professional development in the supervisor training\, MSU LEAD OTHERS:
The Supervisor Series. \n\n\nSponsored by HR - Organizational and Talent
  Development.
