DESCRIPTION:Each year\, the English Department's Workplace Writing Forum s
 ponsors two annual conferences: one for students interested in learning m
 ore about professional writing and one for faculty and others interested 
 in teaching professional writing.\n\n\nFeatured speakers:\n\n\n• Dr. Amy 
 Hodges\, assistant professor\, Department of English\, University of Texa
 s\, Arlington\n\n\nDr. Hodges' research examines the language\, writing a
 nd communication strategies of multilingual engineers in transnational co
 rporations. She also examines the role of writing programs in creating a 
 more inclusive environment and preparing writers for diverse workplaces. 
 Her work has appeard in "IEEE Transactions on Professional Community" and
  "Business and Professional Communication Quarterly."\n\n\n• Dr. Timothy 
 Ponce\, associate professor of instruction\, coordinator of internships a
 nd coordinator of technical writing and professional design\, Department 
 of English\, University of Texas\, Arlington\n\n\nDr. Ponce's scholarship
  rests at the intersection of technical communication and andragogy\, des
 ign thinking\, mentorship and student success. His work has appeared in "
 Pedagogy and Hybrid Pedagogy" and he has presented at IEEE and CPTSC.
