DESCRIPTION:Everyone is invited to attend a free\, public lecture given by
  Dr. Pamela Klassen\, Professor in the Department for the Study of Religi
 on at the University of Toronto and Distinguished Visiting Professor in t
 he Anthropology of Modern Religion at the Ludwig-Uhland-Institut für Empi
 rische Kulturwissenschaft at the University of Tübingen in Germany.  Her 
 lecture is titled “Medicine and Religion as Techniques of Intervention in
  the Lives of Others." \n\n\nDr. Klassen is author of many books and arti
 cles\, including Blessed Events: Religion and Home Birth in America and S
 pirits of Protestantism: Medicine\, Healing\, and Liberal Christianity (U
 niversity of California Press\, 2011)\, which won a 2012 American Academy
  of Religion Award of Excellence. Her latest book project is entitled The
  Story of Radio Mind: A Missionary’s Journey on Indian Land.\n\n\nThis pu
 blic lecture is part of the Wabash Grant-funded Religion and Health Sympo
 sium.
