 nAbstract: In the last 50 years\, France has experienced massive waves of
  immigrants from countries in Africa and Asia\, with 40% of the national 
 total settling in the Paris area. This immigration has been quite influen
 tial and has sparked concern among many French nationals.\n\n\nThis prese
 ntation will look at how immigration has shaped Paris and created distinc
 t cultural communities. It will also discuss the relationships among Musl
 im Arabs\, West African\, Jews and Chinese as some of the main groups res
 haping Paris. The focus will be on two distinctive neighborhoods – the Go
 utte d’Or and Belleville – to document the ethnic landscape\, ethnic busi
 nesses and ethnic interactions.
