SUMMARY:Missouri State University Film Series: Lotawana
DESCRIPTION:The Missouri State University Film Series presents a free scre
ening of a new feature film produced in Missouri\, "Lotawana."\n\n\nEmpty
materialism and the constraints of modern culture have pushed the unfulf
illed Forrest (Todd Blubaugh) to a voyage of discovery. This resolute you
ng man escapes to nature by living aboard a sailboat on a rural Missouri
lake. After setting sail on his journey\, he catches wind of the rebellio
us and free-spirited Everly (Nicola Collie) and their idealistic dreams a
lign. As they let go\, they fall head first into the idea of leaving the
old world far behind. Can they survive and rewrite their own rules of mod
ern existence\, or will they discover society operates its way for a reas
on?\n\n\nAfter the screening\, co-producer and assistant director Nathan
Kincaid will discuss his experience working on "Lotawana\," and his caree
 r as a Kansas City-based filmmaker.
