DESCRIPTION:Dr. John Eassey\, asistant professor of criminology\, will pre
 sent his research.\n\n\nThe transition into the labor market typically oc
 curs in adolescence as teenagers obtain their first jobs. Despite this se
 emingly normative occurrence\, a large body of research has found that ad
 olescents who work tend to engage in more deviant behavior\, and do less 
 well in school compared to their non-working peers. Utilizing the life-co
 urse perspective\, the present research examines the developmental course
  of employment during adolescence and emerging adult and its relationship
  to crime and educational attainment in two samples.
