DESCRIPTION:Presented by Tom Kane\n\n\n \n\n\nThe psychology department ta
 sked a subcommittee to find ways to identify strategies to engage and ret
 ain students.  This workshop describes the retention principles that guid
 ed the committee\, the way the committee approached its charge\, and the 
 resulting recommendations.   Special emphasis is placed on advisement con
 siderations and finding ways to help majors become more vested and proact
 ive in the advisement process.
