DESCRIPTION:Mariano Albera\, VP of Technology and CTO at Expedia will be d
 iscussing elements of the IT industry that are found in successful organi
 zations and by implication\, what students should know as they embark on 
 their careers.\n\n\nBio:\n\n\n Mariano is a software engineer from Argent
 ina with more than 14 years of experience within the online travel indust
 ry. He was one of the first employees at Despegar.com and later he moved 
 to Europe to lead development at Rumbo. In 2007 he joined Opodo as CIO wh
 ere he spent 5 years leading to a successful sale of the business and cre
 ating the OdigeO group. In 2012 Mariano joined Thomas Cook as Group CIO f
 or Ecommerce where he reported to Harriet Green supporting the digital tr
 ansformation of the travel giant. After a few years in TC he decided to g
 o back to the startup world and he has spent the last 2 years as CTO at O
 vo Energy\, the fastest growing energy company in the UK\, where he was r
 ecognized as one of the Top 100 CIOs in the UK.
