DESCRIPTION:"Reconsidering the Scots-Irish Ozarks" will focus on a debate 
 over the ethnocultural origins of the people of the Ozarks\, a debate tha
 t stems from the earliest days of the Ozarks Studies program at MSU in th
 e 1970s. Dr. Brooks Blevins\, professor of history\, will challenge\, or 
 at least complicate\, the popular narrative that the historical Ozarks wa
 s a bastion of Scots-Irish culture.The luncheon will be held in the Turne
 r Family Hospitality Room on the first floor of the Kenneth E. Meyer Alum
 ni Center. Complimentary parking is available in the attached garage off 
 of McDaniel Street. Feel free to arrive any time after 11:30 a.m. Lunch w
 ill be served at approximately 11:30 a.m.\, followed by the program at no
