DESCRIPTION:Suicide Awareness &amp; Prevention Among College Students\n\n\n \n
 \n\n \n\n\n \n\n\nRecent research indicates one in 10 college students ha
 ve seriously considered suicide in the last year\, and suicide is the sec
 ond leading cause of death among college students in the United States.  
 Join us for a presentation by Patrick Lord\, PsyD\, and Calli Romero\, BS
 \, marking Suicide Awareness Week on the MSU campus.  This presentation w
 ill review the importance of recognizing the warning signs of suicide amo
 ng college age students\, suggest safe intervention strategies\, and prov
 ide information regarding resources to access.  Dr. Lord is a Clinical Ps
 ychologist employed by Cox Health Psychological Services\, and an adjunct
  faculty member of the MSU Psychology Department.  Calli Romero is a Ment
 al Health Counseling Graduate Student at MSU\, and a Psychiatric Technici
 an on the Child/Adolescent Inpatient Psychiatric Unit\, working with Dr. 
 Lord at Cox North.  This event is sponsored by the Missouri State Univers
 ity Psychology Club.
