DESCRIPTION:If you would like a taste of immersion without commiting to a 
 whole weekend or week\, join us in this experience. This is your opportun
 ity to learn more about the LGBTQ+ community and teen homelessness in Spr
 ingfield\, Missouri. \n\n\nSpread the Love\, Share the Knowledge: Teen Ho
 melessness and the LGBTQ+ CommunityIn Springfield\, Missouri\, the LGBTQ+
  community and teen homelessness have close ties. In the Ozarks\, 73% of 
 youth who had both experienced homelessness with their family and had bee
 n a victim of or witness to repeated traumas at home had been homeless on
  their own. Additionally\, 55% of those surveyed related being homeless t
 o identifying as LGBTQ+. In the Springfield community\, there are resourc
 es specifically for youth homelessness. We will be working to expand our 
 knowledge of LGBTQ+ issues and how teen homelessness affects our communit
 y through service and training.\n\n\nParticipants will be serving with Ra
 re Breed in the morning\, engaging in a Safe Zone training and learning a
 bout LGBTQ+ organizations in Springfield in the afternoon. Lunch will be 
 provided.
