SUMMARY:Public Affairs Conference - Health sustainability in a hostile hea
 lth environment
DESCRIPTION:Plenary Speaker:  Vivian Carter\n\n\nThe issue of health care
has become a national crisis regardless of one’s political position. The
health status of a country is directly related to the nation’s productivi
ty and safety. Epidemiologists generally focus on the disease. However\,
a social epidemiologist will focus on the people with the disease. Theref
ore\, it is important to address both biological and social structural pe
rspectives. When examining the issues of health sustainability\, it is es
sential to distinguish between health equality and health equity. These i
ssues will be addressed through four lenses: bioethical\, social environm
ental\, social structural and economic.\n\n\nWatch this address live at p
