DESCRIPTION:Dr. Hannah Messerli\, professor of graduate courses in tourism
  planning\, development\, economics and international consulting\, will p
 resent: "Tourism as an Economic and Well-Being Development Tool: Is the W
 orld Bank in the Tourism Business?"\n\n\nThis is an interactive seminar t
 hat will provide insight and in particular\, the role of the World Bank i
 n supporting tourism development.\n\n\nDr. Messerli serves as Chair of GW
 's International Institute of Tourism Studies. She is a former staff in t
 he Trade and Competitveness Global Practice of the World Bank. She has su
 pported development of government initiatives to develop tourism private 
 sector capacity in countries across Asia\, Africa\, Europe\, the Middle E
 ast and the Americas. Her focus is on cultural heritage and nature-based 
 tourism development in emerging economies.
