More than 600 stude nts\, teachers and other supervising adults are expected to take part in competitive events related to science\, math and engineering.\n\n\nMore t han 21 high schools and 26 middle schools are represented by teams from 2 2 counties in southwest Missouri. Twenty-three events are held for both d ivisions\, although events vary between each. The events focus on many as pects of science and can generally be classified into three different typ es of competition: science knowledge\, science process skills and technol ogy/application. Various members of the Missouri State community and othe r local professionals will judge the events.\n\n\nThe Region VII tourname nt of the Missouri Science Olympiad encourages scientific interest and ex citement in the students of southwest Missouri.
