The fall exhibition showcases the talent and skill of students who have spent yea rs developing an artistic studio practice that will carry them into their professional careers.\n\n\nIn the west gallery:\n\n\nThroughout the cour se of this semester\, graduate students in the Art & Design Department ha ve been reading Lorne Buchman’s Make to Know: From Spaces of Uncertainty to Creative Discovery for their interdisciplinary graduate seminary class . This book explains the idea of “make to know” as learning by doing\, in which artistic discovery occurs through the process of making and explor ation.\n\n\nUsing this book as a starting point\, the students have had m eaningful discussions centered around planned spontaneity\, creative entr y points\, and how processes\, materials\, and concepts can guide the mak ing process.\n\n\nAs a result\, they have brought new approaches into the ir studios to guide them through their making process throughout the seme ster.
